galaxea corals

sry if not considered sps, i don't think it's an lps, so i figured i'd ask here.

I was wondering HOW galaxea corals grow and expand. I got one for someone on an order and am looking at it, wondering how on earth they grow. It doesnt look like they skin over. i can't see growth underneath the rock surface, but obviously they have to grow, otherwise this rock he got wouldn't be almost 5"x4".

anyone care to enlighten me?

they are lps. I have had mine for 4 years and I don't think it grew an inch. They have huge sweeper tentacles. Best of luck...

they are pretty good growers. they just continue to grow new heards and expand their stoney base. but definately keep it pretty far away from everything else cause their sweeper tenticles are very very very long.

good to know. The coral was for someone who went in on an order with me, and i found it to be quite interesting. the sweeper tentacles i'd imagine are a nightmare.
