5 mouths!
Merry christmas everyone!
I have just purchased and recieved my new Ric Fl and after placing them in the tank and opening up i have realised that they all have more than one mouth, some have up to 5. Now will these eventually split in to new rics or will they stay attached. Also how long will it take roughly if they are to split as i really want to spread them around my aquarium. Happy reefing to you all. |

i hear feeding them well will get them to split , i assume with all of those mouths it should split.

I have several Fla Rics with multiple mouths but they have not split. They look good and are growing just no splitting in the 9 months in the tank.

cut them between the mouths and you will have more polyps

yes you can! Cut them in half or to the mouth and let them split and heal-whala two rics

the multiple mouths do not mean that the FL Rics will split, they can be that way indefinitely or decide to split one day; but as mentioned you can frag them yourself with a razor blade. it is qute easy.

the only problem is that sometimes they split after being cut and other times they just melt
