Unhappy So long, my friend...........

No, I am not leaving the hobby. Though some of you wished I did

I am just saying good bye to my little 30 gallon SPS gem that I've had just over 2 years now. The 300 is fully cycled and ready. In fact, much of the loose corals and frags have been moved over already. The remaining colonies have grown onto the rockwork which will need to be removed along with the rocks.

Here is a pic from last night. The colors isn't the greatest right now b/c I've neglected the tank a bit recently. The Cali tort in the middle used to be a deep blue.

Here are a couple shots of the 300. Could you believe that I had all that stuff in a 30

These are the only good close-up shots I was able to get last night. Still waiting for the lighting so I can put them up. Right now, I only have a Phoenix 250W and some temporary T5HOs on the tank.

Just so that you don't think that I am some kind of insane packrat when it comes to my tanks, those didn't all come out of the 30 I also have a couple small tanks at work that I moved stuff over b/c one of those are also coming down.

Sweet Kenny! Man, 300g that's big. I don't think I'll ever beyond my 240. Can't see the pics from work, so I am anxious to see when I get home tonight to see the female crosses new home!

WHO are you??? Always have "friends" coming out of the woodwork when there are nice corals

Thanks cthetoy. the 30 had some awesome colors a while back but hasn't looked the same in the last 6-8 months. I think it was due to a salt change but can't be sure. Still got pretty good growth though. All those colonies in there were small 1-1.5" frags less than 2 years ago.

kenny looks great. i wanna see some close ups-).

for those that have not seens kennys tanks before. he is so good at cramming things in small tubs, cubes at his office it is amazing kenny maximizes his realestate. bummer was he almost killed half of them last summer durring a heat wave.
congrads kenny i am looking forward to all of your frags growing into huge colonies.

LOL..........as Richard said, I am VERY GOOD at packing colonies and frags in my tanks. Let's just say that when we travel and my wife wants to bring 5 large suitcases, I can pack everything into a large and a carry-on

I have a total of 3 small tanks and a small tub that holds frags on a temporary basis. The tub is no longer in action. One of the tanks in the office is almost empty, so is the 30 at home. The other tank at work is still full with my prized zoa/paly/LPS collections. The plan is to build a rimless acrylic tank that's ~50 gallons for the office. The acrylic pieces are all already cut and prepped, just need to be glued together. So in the end, I'll have 2 tanks. One at home and another at work.

Maybe he's just saying he had all those frags so his wife won't suspect he's been out shopping.

J/K Kenny, looking good! Any plans of cutting a hole in the wall behind it so you can see it in the living room?

Wow Kenny! I remember seeing your 30 with a gazillion frags in there many moons ago. You've got quite the collection now!

Ken - You know how it is nowadays No holes anywhere, unless it's in my head.......lol

Roland - how ya doin'. Yeah, it's been a while. Now I am kinda digging the sparse look with just the big colonies in the 30. Hope I can move all those frags out of the 300 soon so it won't look like a scene from "300"
