west marine usually carries it, or other marine stores. I don't know what the generic name for it is

Look for it under the names Starboard or Seaboard. It's UV stabilized HDPE (high density polyethylene). Most folks use cutting board material which is just textured HDPE, just not UV stabilized which isn't a big deal but that is the primary difference.

I got mine from usplastics, it's called HDPE, as Acrylics said. It's way cheaper than the brand name stuff.
