Coral Propagation Tank?
I'd like to start a coral propagation tank, but I do not know how to start out. Would it be attatched to my main tank? What kind of lighting?....I have some extra PC's that I cold use.

mine's attached to my main tank through my sump. it is a 10gallon with a 24" PC strip light. i built a little shelf out of eggcrate and all the frags are doing great. it's nice to have it connected to the main tank so there's no issues with acclimating the cuttings to a new tanks water.

Do you have like a picture or something on how it is connected to your sump?

mine is on the bottom of the fist inside page of www.jendub.com
the prop lights run when the display is off keeping the water warm, my electric bill went down $10 when I combined the systems! The heater never runs now and the water volume and late afternoon start keep the chiller from running when the halides are on. It's a dream, like turning your electric bill wastage into free frags, plus the frags filter out extra food and nutrients keeping my water extra clean like a living filter |
