Can a clam recover from a mantle injury?

My coral beauty angel took a nice chunk out of my Crocea's mantle. The clam is still extending it's mantle except for in that one area. Will the clam recover? Is there anything I need to do to help it?

TIA.

it should. youre gong to have to make something so the angelfish doesnt nip anymore.

youre either going to end up having to take the fish out or take the clams out and move them somewhere else, but for the meantime you could cut out the plastic top from a plastic coke bottle, like the large ones, clean it out and put it over the clam

if you do use a bottle as a shield, fill it with 1/4" holes for water circulation.

You will have to either remove the clam or the angel or the fish will kill the clam.

The angel is coming out as soon as I can catch him. I'll make a shield for the clam to protect him. thanks for the responses.

If the clam has proper conditions then it will recover quite rapidly; however, the angel may strike again!
