Need Help!!! House tent is going up....

We came to the conclusion that due to termites we need to tent the house. I have a 65g tank drilled. What can I do to protect the tank?
The tent will be up on the house for 24hrs with gas inside, then for 12 hrs post the initial 24hrs the house will be all open airing out.
Basically the tent will go up on Friday @ 7am, then comes down on Saturday @ 7am, finally the house will air out until Saturday 7pm.
If all goes well, we should be back at the house Sat late night.
I was think of doing a 50% water change the day before, then sealing the the tank in heavy duty plastic wrap to keep the gas from contacting the water.

Does anyone have any idea if this would work, or what they did when they were in the same situation? All advise would be grateful! Thanks!!

Hey Mel,from what I've read in the past,most people seal the entire tank as you said.Some also rig a vent or vents to push fresh air into & out of the enclosed area.I think they used regular tumble drier vent pipe.It will need to pass to the outside & can have a small fan mounted to it,in order to move more air.I think the double vent method with a single fan is the best,just be sure to get a good seal around the vents.HTH

If I were you I would completely seal the tank off with visquene and then put the tank enclosed area under positive pressure by using SCUBA tanks, air pump or something similar.

I sealed my tank with a plastic from Home Depot and taped the bottom to the floor leaving only the circulation pump running, one day without lights is not a big deal but the risk comes form the temperature swing, how hot is the room without running A/C? how much heat is your pump going to generate in sealed bubble? I took a gable and got lucky.

I went through this last year. I pulled most of the fish and corals out of the tank and took out half the water. Then I sealed it up with plastic and duct tape so it was air tight, but because the water lvl was low there was an air space at the top of the tank. The fish/corals stayed overnight at a friends in buckets. I left two fish in the tank a wrasse and a goby. The wrasse died, the goby made it. I had a pump in one of the buckets make too much heat and lost a tang and a coral everything else was OK. Were I to do it again I'd tape things up and run an airline into the water. I've lost a few fish due to oxygen loss durring hurricanes and tank leak emergencies.

My plan will be to move many of my bigger corals to Armondo's 90g tank (Yes Armondo I want them back...lol), my fish will go to a temp 15g tank at my moms, and my inverts will go in a bucket with a small power head.
The tank itself will be wrapped in Heavy duty plastic wrap, with a battery powered air pump...will probably leave only a few softies behind.

I have an extra 55 acrylic + powerheads, pumps etc. you can use if you want to store them, move them or whatever.
