light test

i was wondering if there is any way to test and see if my fluorencent bulbs are still giving off enough light?

sure, but you gotta buy a PAR meter which is I believe about $400

if it has black ends, does it means its wored out?

I beleive if the ends are discolored that is a sighn that the bulb is in need of replacement. Someone once told me (I cannot verify this) that if the bulbs ends are discolored, then your ballast is going out...
