t5 lights died?

Hey all,
I just bought a t5 electronic ballast and two t5 tubes this past weekend to put into my homemade aquarium hood. It worked great the first day, being on for about 7 hours. Then yesterday, I turned it on when I got home and about an hour later I heard a shorting out electric sound and one of the tubes went dim. Then 10 seconds later the other went dim. I checked my wiring and it all looks fine and the bulbs are still on, just really dim. Does anyone have any experience with trouble shooting t5 lighting setup?

Cheers,
Jay

It doesn't say the brand name, so when I get home I will post it if this info is not enough.

cheers,
Jay

It is a "5 workhorse 5" electronic ballast.
