how long should it take for a frogspawn to grow...?
my frogspawn is currently about 1 inch across. I recovered it from some live rock rubble that I bought. So far it hasn't grown that much since this summer. Im wondering how long it usually takes frogspawn to double in size and how I can increase the rate at which it grows.
I tried feeding it some mysis shrimp, but it didnt take it in. it just stuck to its fingers until the current took it off. maybe Im not doing it right. what should I do? thanks a lot! -matt

Growth rate can be extremely variable based on a huge array of factors. I've seen healthy Euphyllia double in size every six months, but I've also seen them grow much, much more slowly. Having not grown appreciably in six months might indicate that conditions are not to its liking, or it may just indicate that it isn't growing that fast right now . A lot of corals, when recovering from injury, will have extremely low growth rates for as much as a year. This can often be followed by extremely rapid (="normal") growth.
Without knowing more that's all I can say. Cheers, -Chris

My froggie hasn't really put on a great amount of skeleton, but the tentacles have definitely double, maybe tripled in size. It expands nicely and eats on occasion. I'm happy as long as it seems to be doing well.

It's definately a recovering piece of coral. It is growing off of a skeleton that has 3 heads about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It covers half of one head. There is also a VERY tiny piece that managed to grow on a tiny skeleton and its about 3 mm wide. So far it's been looking healthy. The conditions definately aren't optimal for growth, but my other corals are growing well.
I was just wondering what the (realistic) optimal conditions are for helping it grow better/be healthier.
