Spider webing
What causes spider webing in the tank. I have it from time to time in my tank.
I know it is from the sps but why do they do this? Is it bad? what should I do to stop it? If need be. Thanks |

Agreed, sounds like Vermetid snails. Here are a few pic's of the Vermetids that cropped up in my tank so you can compare what you are seeing in your tank. They seem to be most abundant in my large Frogspawn. The ones in my tank seem to be the larger species that do not reproduce to plague proportions fast.
You can see the webbing coming from the tube Here is a pic of the webbing they expell to trap/collect particulate to eat I hope these pic's help.

Oh yes. I got those. Great. funny i thought it was the sps sliming up, because the webing was always caught up on the sps.

I had a few of those, was quite annoying, so I found the mouth and superglued it shut,.. worked great... They can multiply fairly quickly as well

Ha! Superglueing the mouth shut! Great idea. I've tried kalk and boiling water injections and neither of those worked.
