Smaller Diamond Lumenarc

Does anyone know if they make a smaller Diamond Lumenarc pendant? If so, who carries them? Thanks.

I do not believe so, however, even if they did, it wouldn't work as well. PROBABLY the reason the thing works so well is b/c it's so friggin' big. If you want something smaller that performs and you can pay 100 or so per fixture, look at the reefoptix I. It's an enclosed pendant--performance is better than the ROII b/c it's got a front and back--you capture the light that otherwise goes out the front.

I've got 2 of the smaller lumenarcs III from the origonal manufacturer. They are 16X16 instead of 20X20. I also have 2 of the larger reflectors. Coverage is the same on a standard 120g tank. I've been looking for 6 more with no luck.

The 16x16 size would be perfect. Wish I knew who made them. Thanks George.

Well, I just called pacific garden supply and they are working on the smaller version. It's due out in a couple months. I suppose I can wait.

They told me that almost a year ago. I hope it's true this time.

Thanks,

Yeah, thanks for that info. How long ago were you able to get the smaller Lumenarc's? I take it Pacific Garden Supply does not have them? Does anyone know who does?

well, there you go. HOWEVER, I would wonder how effective the smaller unit is. Not visually but "by the numbers", b/c just my impression, the effectiveness of the lumenarc is probably related to it's size.

Very true Moonpod. I suppose if its smaller, you might as well go with the other known reflectors.

I got the smaller reflectors 2 years ago when the origonal company made them.

It's exactly the same reflecter as the big one but 4" smaller. Sitting only 8" over a tank won't be much difference. These reflectors are made for gardening so the reflector would be several feet from the plant tops. 4" would mean a big difference in sq. ft. coverage per bulb.

I called yesterday to order some reflectors. Was told the reflectors are $129 each but if I order 5 or more they will be $109 each but I had to call and speak with someone else to order. So I called back today and spoke to the "other person" and this person told me the small reflectors are not available unless I buy their ballast. The price also went from $129 to $179 and $10 off each if I buy 5 or more.

PSG, Can you tell me what the real deal is here? I love getting the run around.
