Not yet, but I am planning a T5 and MH combo. I do know the lights will come from Aqua-Medic, as I have connections and can get them for wholesale price.

What do you think of the 250wDE XM15k? How is the par? I don't want to spend $200 on bulbs, so XM is my first choice...

Kayla/Liana, how much is that wholesale? $676 is an awful lot for lights.

I'm planning on putting it on timers, so photoperiod will be like this:

T5s on
MH on
MH off
T5s off
Moonlights on
Repeat

THe color scheme should be awesome on this tank.

The fixture I'm getting, is $610, that's with tax, shipping, everything.

I can get that fixture for $539 (total).

I'm thinking I might do 1 x 400w MH pendant w/ a separate T5 fixture for actinic supplimentation...that would certainly be enough light for a 50 cube!

I agree, sounds like a good plan! That's how I have my lights set up now, except I have VHO--not T5 (and no moonlight).

Corto, in your loserish "leaving the thread" (so four months ago), you have failed to notice that Kayla's been around for a while.

You should have a period where no lights are on at all. So many put mooinlights on for a few hours. Then some hours of total darkness.
