Hey. I want to set up a little nano. Just to put some grow out corals in.... and to keep some little critters in. Anyone recommend anything. Looking for something smaller than a 10 gallon. I like the mini-bows. The 6 gallon nano cube would be sweet. But those are a little pricey. If worse comes to worse.... I could just set up a the 2.5 gallon AGA.

Right now I current have a 5.5g nano and a 10g nano. For a fish, a small damsel is an excellent choice! They are cheap, bright, and will survive almost anything! lol I currently have a blue devil damsel in my 5.5g. My 5.5g is an AGA with a regular flurescent bulb. As for corals, mushrooms do really well in low light. IMO, only add a nassarius and an asrea snail, or simular snails. I'm a bit skeptical of the 1 per gallon rule. I would think that many snails in a 5.5 would eventually starve. As for other inverts, you could get a peppermint shrimp and a hermit or two.
Good luck!

Sara

mike, we realize that in theory/technicaly, they are atto reefs, but we base our nano judgement on the size of other reef tanks, and not on the size of the oceans...now SHUT UR PIE HOLE already

That would still be inaccurate. Nano means one billionth. No reef tanks are one billion gallons. The largest reef I know of is 20,000 gallons. Therefore, if using your view of it all, "nano" would mean a tank containing about as much water as a tenth of a raindrop.

Actually, people saying ATM Machene say Machene once and Machine once. They repeat nothing. Of course, ATM Machine would be an entirely different piece of pie.
