Angry Unbelivable fish death.(neon dottyback)

I'm gone for three hours tonight and I come home to this....the neon dotyback...head wedged in the back of the aquaclear powerhead where the suction cups mount to the glass...unbelievable , I would never believe it if had not seen it w/mine own eyes,,,,I mean the space is maybe a 1/16th of a inch or so....what gives????...if it was not so gruesome looking..I mean it would be, you know funny...I pulled himout....I guess he was exploring, got his head stuck and could not yank it out.

Oh well...he was kind of a pain, but what a way to go..

Sorry to hear that. I lost a clown earlier this year when he wedged his head into a hole in a rock. He was wedged in so tightly that I couldn't even get him out in one piece.

Unhappy R.I.P

There is the powerhead on the left side....

This is one of the downsides to marine fish...even when your careful...fatalities can happen

That's a smug looking powerhead
Just hangin there feeling powerfull. Must be pretty insecure to have to murder something much smaller than it.

Sorry, couldn't resist. That sucks about your fish man.

I had the same thing happen to a Bartlett Anthias. He wedged himself between a maxi-jet & the tank wall chasing some mysis while I was feeding. I was able to free him from this odd predicament.
