mushroom expansion

what would cause poor mushroom expansion? my tank has perfect parms. and great lighting, the mushrooms are in the best posible lighting conditions, and it looks like they're melting and sort of withering. what would cause this? the ricordea however are not showing the same signs. they are happy and multiplying quickly. the only ones showing the withering are the red mushrooms, and blue-striped shrooms. any ideas?

Let me guess, you have floridas? They can handle a lot more light than Actinodiscus shrooms. Why do you think you have best lighting conditions for your shrooms? Most Actinodiscus morphs are low light variety, 175W MH if in a shallow tank is not good light for them to say the least. Good for most varieties of Floridas though.

Move them to more shaded areas w/less flow.

the temp stays at 78 F. i know that most actinodiscus like low lighting conditions. all of the ones in my tank are in the shadows, where the full intensity of the MH doesn't reach.
