maxijet mod.. problem

so I got the kit form mjmods.com..

BUT the stopper is what I can't get right.... it will sometimes shake for 5-10 seconds before locking in... and in my test runs... the prop had some serious ware on it from hitting the acrylic stopped rod... from just 5 mins of testing..

should i post pics or what? covey, anyone?

I built my own based on using the forums just a week and a half ago. When mine hit the acrylic it did wear a little, but nothing substantial. I also rounded my acrylic counter-flow lip down to a rounded edge, that may be why mine wore less.

Please post a pic or two of the stopper issue you are having, I would like to see it.

My guess would be that the stopper is too close, or that the piece that the prop is glued to is too short. I've only made one of them and I never really had any troubles using the directions on the mjmod website. If you post pictures I'm sure covey can tell you for sure what's wrong.

Pics would help. If the original prop is toe beat up you should stilll be able to get replacements at Hobbytown.

Once the prop is to beat up it will never run right. It causes too much drag and the mj keeps switching directions.

I have better luck when the stop is close to the prop so who knows but I think it give it less wind up.

If you don't get it worked out I could stop by and check it out at some point.

the black is a connecting tube to try to tweak and adjust the length of the prop. I get that smooth spinning mjmods talks about when i spin it outside of the maxijet..

I originally left more on infront of the prop.. but cut it off to problem solve this.. i figure the worst was i just start over with a new prop....

So how is it working now?

That prop is not that bad you should see some of the one I went thru building them the first time from scratch.
