Reeflux 10K on EVC ballast. Hoping it won't look to "pink".
I guess it's a matter of taste. I kind of like a pink/purple bulb as it looks like VHO's which I think is the ultimate in color, but has no par.

So the 10k on an electronic ballast has a pink/purple hue to it?

With the IC ballast, it only occured during the "burn in". It was gone after 2-3 weeks.

My wife just said to me last night that she couldn't tell the difference between the P14 and the CVR 10K.

I have EVC 250W electronic, running a reeflux DE 10k Bulb, it was pinkish during burn in, now it's a bright white light, no pink.

Mine only looks pink at certain times of the day depending on the light outside. 90% of the time it's a crisp white.

Are you seeing any blue, or is it just white?

Thanks

I have been in this hobby for close to 10 years now and I can honestly say that I have tried every bulb on the market and nothing comes close to what I have seen from the ReefLux 10K lamps. Once every 5 to 10 years something new comes out that makes a major improvement in this hobby and I think the ReefLux lamps could be one of them. Not only is the color of these lamps fantastic, but the growth rates is like nothing I have seen before. I am getting double the growth rate that I was getting with other 10K lamps that I have used. XM 10K, AB 10K Ushio 10K, all need actinic to balance out there pee yellow color and while I am sure these lamps my burn brighter and whiter under HQI ballast I am not going to use a ballast that is not intended to be ran with a metal halide bulb. I think anyone that is keeping SPS corals needs to give these lamps a try. You will not be sorry you did.

I am also running the previous model Coralvue ballast. All 400 watters on a 500 gal tank and no actinics at all.

I will be posting pictures of my system very soon.

For $50 too! That's a good deal, most places seem to have them at $60.

Thanks for the tip. I just bought three of them and I'm asking the supplier to pricematch this. We'll see what happens.

I ran the Reeflux 10K SE 175W's on my magnetic ballast and it was on the yellow side and made my corals look washed out. I heard you have better results on magnetic ballast with the 12K's. I am going to try them.

Just got my 10K bulb. Bad part is, it came with broken glass on the inside of it.

I'm contacting the seller now.

After looking at pics of the bulb on this thread, it does look like it is a Reeflux.

Just waiting for a reply from the vendor.
