You can get the high flow mod at premium aquatics for the sure flow. IMO its the easiest mod that works great. The sure flow high and GSII are both great for larger tanks.

I recently picked up a SureFlow 2000 and a GSII kit. The SureFlow comes with an impeller assembly (magnet, impleller, shaft, etc) all ready to go. It also includes the props for both the 1600 kit and 2000 kit. I went with the larger prop on my MJ1200. The mounting bracket is nice as you can use it with your existing MJ mounting options. The flow is sick. My scientific observations make me believe it's flowing more than my Tunze 6100.

The GSII is very similar, but only comes with one prop and you have to reuse your MJ magnet and end caps. You also cannot use stock MJ brackets with it. For these reasons, I'm favoring the SureFlow.

I recieved my new sureflow mods last night. I was running the old mod on a 1200 and just installed two of the new ones on 1200's and I am gettting a lot more flow from them. As for noise the new mod makes a slightly louder humming noise but no chatterring

I definitely get a humming noise, but I think that the humming mainly comes from the pump vibrating the mount and transferring the vibration to the glass of the aquarium.

That seems right as there is a good amount of movement by the ph.
On another note I snapped the mount on my original sureflow when I tried forcing beyond its limitations. Could I attach a magnet to the back of the MJ and have it mounted as such? At current I have it attached to the original MJ suction sup mount but that limits my placement.

will the sureflow or any of the other impeller mods work with a wave maker, such as the red sea?

GSII high flow is giving me a lot of problems now. I was mixing salt for about 22 hours and all of a sudden the mj1200 started chattering really bad. I have an extra ecomod so it isn't a big deal but the GSII kit will not work at all.

I have 4 GSII, they all broke. I got replacement parts for 2 but The are rattling again, so I think they will break too.

what did they replace?

I have used this pump kit for maybe 5 water changes and its now broke. Can't believe it broke so quick. I have 2 ecomods running 24/7 for months on mj400 without any problems.

I just got a sure flow yesterday..The thing works great! at first I put it on a 1200 Whooo Way to much flow for my tank! (37g 30x12) then the 900..still to much so I bumped it down to the 600 and it's just right...

on a side note

I'm running a wave master pro on 4 PH including this 600 with the sure flow and now I'm buying two more Dr F&S has them on sale for 15 bucks btw.

after seeing the HK nano working I'm not so sure I want the 1 or 2 now. plus from what I understand you CAN NOT run a wave maker on it, you need some kind of control unit like the Seio or Tunze... I like my little WMP and I'm not giving it up!

I've been running 4 of the SureFlow high-flow mods on a Reef Fanatic Wave Creator for the last month without any issues.

I am very interested in knowing what is breaking on some people's GSII mods, I don't really see any part that looks fragile at all.
I moved my GSII moded mj to a different spot (not mounted to my overflow box) and all audible humming has gone away, so it was my overflow box that was acting as a sound board.

yea I would like to see some pics of broken parts. I wonder if some people are bias to sureflow????
I've got three GS2's running on a wavemaker now for 2 months with no humming, no vibrations, nothing.

Yea and for $38, I got magnets for all three!!!!

I have two AF mod kits installed in my 75, one on a MJ 900, the other on a 600. All the flow I can deal with at this point. However, if I disconnect and reconnect them, particularly the 600, they fail to start properly making it clear I'd have an issue with some wave makers.
My question, are the ones having success with wave makers using a system that keeps them running at a slower speed rather than turning them off? Soft start?

I have tried to put my mods on a rehostat but when you turn it down a little, it just stops. I don't think ac pumps can be variable speed. Thats the nice thing about tunze and ecotech. But I do use an "natural wavemaker" with my mj 1200 GS2's and the do turn on and off. They mods also have a stop built in to insure they turn in right direction. Maybe your mj600's are too small or too old to work correctely.

Try trimming the prop some. I had that same issue when I first setup my G2 mod. Trimming the prop down ever so slightly made the chattering go away. I have not had a problem in a week or so. I think the white prop on the G2 might be a tad to big for the MJ1200 to spin it correctly, but who knows. HTH!

I just had my free upgrade from algaefree arrive today. As per fatboyz saying that if we mailed them our reciept for the other version they would send us the upgrade for free. The best part is that they just dont send the new propellar they send the whole kit, bracket and both propellars. Mine came in a little over a week.

Yeah that is what i'm thinking. The only way i could get it to stop chattering was to put my hand over the intake slots.
