just picked up a $485 ultra rare coral.

the guy who sold it to me said that this was an extremely rare albino encrusting montipora that was collected in the deep water strata of the reefs off marshall island.

please do not ask me to frag this as i am planning to keep this rarity all to myself.

but, a heads up tip...i will frag a very small piece in the next 6 months to a year and will post it on ebay where i will get more than what i paid for it.

i am hesitant to post a pic of it as it may be fraudulently used by unscrupulous individuals but here it is:

the seller added that the elevated price was also due to the fact that the outline of the coral bears a resemblence to Bozo the Clown.

i objected that the elevated price due to the resemblence was unfounded as it looks more like Howdy Doody, which has very little to no significance to my generation.

he therefore knocked the original asking price of $685 to $485. i saved over $200 due to my superior negotiating skills.

You say rare, I say bleached, if it keeps growing...
Well then it will just be a white coral I guess

I have two large rocks covered by it. I hope yours is different and as special as you mention but it looks like it to me. By the way it just came as a hitchhiker.

it was a bit scary there for a bit... to think that I could have paid all my bills and house off with the pile of "special albino corals" that I had sitting in a pail next to our frag thank...... although none of them even remotely resembled a major celebrity, so I most likley wouldn't have made more than lunch money
