I have a buddy who was collecting stamps. Years ago we were screwing around going to his ranch and we stopped at a gas station. I noticed some strange plexiglass things in the door pocket of his car and examined them. They were stamps sandwiched between to sheets of acrylic.

Turns out they were worth tens of thousands of dollars each. One stamp was over $50K, so maybe stamp collecting would have been more expensive than reef keeping!

Lol I used that quote because when i first started planning this tank my friends would always tease me about the time I was spending on it. They used to joke " just collect stamps, then you wont spend so much time on your fish tank"

I agree some stamps are expensive, but there are thousands out there for less than 37 cents. Try finding anything for your tank for 37 cents.

I thought it was funny

Is it 2 x 2 tubing. I'm asking because I'm having my welder at work build my stand next month (gotta love perks ) so I want to give him all the info I can. Are the corners butt welded or were they cut at 45°?

That is what I love about my wife... We each have our own money... We split everything and with the money we have over it's ours... So I can do what ever I want with the money I have left over as long as I am putting up my 1/2 for the shared expenses...

I still can't believe you are curing LR in your tub, ROFL...

Shawn, I know couples that do that but it does seem a bit strange to me. Do you each have a set savings system as well? If one of you is saving for the future and the other is blowing his money on a reef, what happens later on?

As for my wife and I, we both pay 1/2 on the shared things (EX : house, utilities, things like that)... We both put into our 401k at work, we both have savings, I myself have 4 different savings, and then anything after that is ours to do with what we like...

Man is everyone MARRIED? Is the single man a dying breed now a days?

By the way the smell was too much from the live rock so on wed i moved it outside into a kiddie pool. That was too ghetto even for me...

Update...
I broke 2 hayward bulkheads.. using too much liquid Teflon tape i guess, had to order new ones... that will put be back a week or so waiting for UPS..

I also bought a couple of blue hippo tangs the size of postage stamps.. they are doing well in the tank even though they look lost in there...

And finally the Stand and canopy are on there way in from Vegas as we speak i should get the freight on Mon or Tues.

Will post pics later

Happy New Year All

Live rock is curing in a kiddie tub as we speak. The hippo tangs are in the tank. I will take out the hippo tangs when i put the cured rock in so that they will not go through the cycle. I woulnt want to hurt them....

Thanks, i can hardly wait for the stand myself...

Sounds good!

What stain did you choose for the stand and canopy?

My Dad always told me to make sure and buy all the guns and stereo components I will want before I get married. What he failed to do is warn me about marriage itself!

PS. How did you break 2 Hayward bulkheads??? I wonder if they weren't up to snuff? It seems unlikely that you could do that so easily.

They have a thick Teflon seal and are Sch 80. James at Envision told me about them they are the only ones he recommends they sell them at Aquatic eco from what i have heard and what Steve at SoCal said when he saw them they are more than tough.. wont leak

It's awesome when you find the love of your life and you both share everything... My wife is not a reef freak like me, but she does like the tank(s)... I ask her for her input on things she likes and I make sure that those things are in the tank so that we both enjoy the hobby

For the teflon tape you only need like 2 or 3 good wraps and you should be good...
