T5 bulb recommendations

I have 450 gallon tank with a anemone, zoas and a few leathers. Nothing extreme. I have two nova extreme light fixtures that are 8x54. I am wanting to replace all the bulbs. What bulbs does anyone recommend and what types of ratio would you use??? I am leaning towards a blueish hue. so more blue then white.
any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

I have 9 bulbs and i use the following,
5 x BluePlus
2 x Aquablue
2 x Procolor

If i were you I'd go similar to mine with one less procolor. The procolor makes the leather appear nice and orangy. HTH.

Procolor is more like pinkish.

Aquablue is very crisp white.

Blueplus is just straight up blue not even close to actinic.

I have some GE6500k at home but i don't like them after trying different combos. I'm using all ATI bulbs but the system I have is a DIY with icecap ballasts and reflector.

hold on before you order.....check out aquariumspecialty.com, t5 lamps, Korallen-Zucht......thats where its at. the fiji purple is unreal. it brings out serious colors and the coral is equal to a daytime bulb. together, ur reef will look very very vibrant.

There are endless possibilities for T5 and at the end there is not one single combination that is "correct" and will satisfy everyone. I'd recommend just getting a few extra of each color and play with the configuration yourself, everyone has an eye for something else.

The KZ Fiji Purple is really nice and different, Procolor suppose to be the equivalent but not quite as nice. I think you mean that the PAR is comparable to daytime bulb if I'm not mistaken. The original number posted by GrimReefer for the Fiji Purple was incorrect and he retested the bulb and got a a par around 250 which is closer to the Actinic bulb.

Post your question at the end of this thread. Grim Reefer will get back to you with a recommendation. He really knows his stuff!
