My new Misbar Percs

Here they are. They are supposed to be onyx percs but we will see...

Should they get their black soon? They are about 1 inch long.

how much did you pay for the mis-bars ??

I seen a pair of mis-bars locally for $14.99 each, they were a nice size too..

Usually Onyx get black in between the first and second bar before the third bar develops . They look more like Ocellaris mis bars .

Yeah phosphates need to come down a bit.

I volunteer at sharky's reef, so I got them free. They were $45 each.

How many bones in the spine do the percs have? I have heard that is a way to identify them.

And look at the one in the last pic. I think he might have a little black coming through on the back fin.

Well they're cute. You can't always tell in pictures, but the ring around the eyes is pretty clear in percs. Not in ocellaris.

According to Joyce Wilkerson both species have clear rings around eyes . Ocellaris clowns have 11 dorsal spines and Percula clowns have 9 or 10 dorsal spines .
