My new friend

I went into my LFS today and they had just received a new LR shipment. One of the guys there knew I had been looking for a small Mantis shrimp for quite some time now. I had a tank set up for one a while back, but took it down after I couldn't find one locally. To my surprise they got a very small one in the LR. He's less than 1" long. I even held him for a minute. How cute. I've set up something for him until I can figure out what I want to house him in permanently. Here he is before acclimation. He's been all over his new home since I put him in. They are such characters.

Very cool, I love to hear about someone finding one from a LFS rock shippment. That is how i got one of mine, when he was about 1" long. I even got a free piece of Tonga Branch he had hollowed out like a straw and made home. I would love to see some more pictuers of you mantis.

Thanks Thurge. I'll try to get more pictures of him soon, but he's still being a little shy. With such great eyesight it's hard to sneak up on him to take a picture.

It's always nice when that happens.
