Gardeners - a question

I live in Byran, Texas about an hour an half north west of Houston, I think I'm zone 8. If I plant iris bulbs within the next few weeks, will I get flowers this year? We just bought our first house and I love flowers, I want to grow things I can cut to put in the house also.

Your best bet would be to go to a local garden center and buy plants already sprouting. I cant give too much advice on zone 8, as I am in 6 myself. I do know that bulbs require a period of dormancy first. You might get some plants, but flowers might be questionable.

I live in zone 4 or 5 I think. I planted Iris' 3 years ago in November. The first year, I got huge plants, but no flowers. This past summer I got tons of flowers, I think around 50 or so. I started with 3 rizomes or whatever their called.
