Geniacanthus bellus

I have been checking out some G. bellus for my reef. As I understand, they are all females when young and then the dominant fish changes over to become the male of the harem. As they are considered reef-safe and particularly interesting I was planning on obtaining 3-4 fish as females and give it a go.

Anyone with experience?

genicanthus are planktavores, thus they're as reef safe as a clownfish.

spring time you'll see a lot of small female bellus show up at the wholesalers usually.

Actually MORE reef safe than anemone fish (clown fish) as they will not associate with (what many people call hosting) corals and damage them.
