Yay for strict parenting!

Please read the description

(I hope this isn't violating anything with the UA)

Buster would like to issue a warning. He will come visit anyone who makes comments suggesting the particular substance mentioned in this auction is "ok", "no big deal", etc etc.

He feels this is fair warning.

It was in "Odd News" on Yahoo.

I guess the dad isn't as upset after banking it

I didn't mention "it"; do I really want BrianD coming to visit me?

I can't believe some of the emails he is getting bashing his parenting. What is the world coming to? I think this is a genius idea, or a great marketing ploy. Hope he can get the money from the highest bidder, seeing the amount it's bid to currently.

I got Guitar Hero III for the Wii at Circuit City a couple of weeks ago for Brandon for $89.99. Maybe I should sell it. Think the guy really paid?

I'm not sure. I really kind of hope he got the money out of it and that his son doesn't profit from it one bit.

I agree that the people writing him and bashing his parenting skills are horrible. I wish my parents had done something that embarassing to me when I was in high school. Maybe it would've gotten me to stop what I was doing at the time.

i"m sure the father is still upset and I wouldn't be surprised if the money wasn't put into a trust or something for the kid to go to college with. It takes a much more loving father to discipine a child to teach than it does to ignore the problem.

I think that was very lenient. If I had EVER smoked pot, I would have had to find a new place to live. If I survived, that is.
Kids today get away with ANYTHING. Don't believe that? Visit WalMart and just listen.

Oh, I just read farther down in the auction. It looks like he ended it before the auction was over.

I read through the entire thing. I didn't see anywhere where it ended early. The father basically left it up to the kid on whether to cancel the auction or not. The kid decided to use the money for something else.

I'm not sure the auction is real. The father didn't seem to be too upset once the bidding started.

If that was my son, I would have taken the Guitar out of the box and beat him over the head with it. Problem solved.

That is not relevant. The father made it clear that HE didn't approve. Until the kid moves out, that is the only "law" that matters.

Oh, and if the dad worked harder at being a dad and not as hard at being his son's "best friend", this might not have happened.

I wish more parents would pull a hard line with their kids like this (the majority of kids I see now are spoiled brats in need of discipline) however, I question his need to explain so much of his business online to strangers bidding on an auction. He goes on and on.

I think it is very creative and effective at getting the message across that bad things will happen when bad choices are made.

If you read through the fine print notes at the bottom, the ending price was driven up by a bunch of newly registered bidders with no intention of paying so the kid is going to get the game anyway.
