Corallife protein skimmer

Hello all, Well getting everything together for my 58 gal. SPS reef and i'm still stuck on which skimmer. I have my eyes on the corallife 125. I've heard good and bad things about it. Whats your opinion? Thanks.

They are tricky to get going , and there is a good possibility of a little flood if you arent carefull,

but as far as Working they do great

they're good skimmers for the price, but there are much better ones out there. Why don't you spend a bit more and get a used euro reef rs80? They're only around $200 new

Hi

I have a 220 corallife ..they are a little loud and they are not plug and play. You have to always run otherwise it will need to break in again. Which I hate.
If you were in NYC I will sell it to you dirt cheap

You can just run it during the day, but why would you only run it for part of the day?

I also have the 220 Corallife skimmer, it does a excellent job. All skimmers will have somewhat of a break in period until they slime up.

I Agree, I have the 220 on my 75G and it works grea. Took a couple of days to break in but no problems. Make sure your water level stays steady and you will not have any problems...

I had a CSS 220 .I could never get the thing to work ever. IMO they are way to finicky. For what they are selling for mow a days I would look into a better skimmer. there are many out there.

i have the css125 bought it used with the meshmod. after a couple of weeks i almost trashed it because it is so sensitive to the water level and i made it overflow a couple times. i put it back up a couple of days ago and couldnt be happier. for the price that you can get it at, you really can't beat it once you get the hang of things.

do the fishing line mod on them and they work great. Otherwise they are just ok. Like everyone says, they are tricky to get set to the right level and are picky about water level's changing but not bad for the price.

i have the coralife ss 65 and have to say for the price you can't beat it. been running mine for about a year now and as long as you have it where water level is constant you have no worries of overflowing. i am upgrading this month to a tunze 9010 but only for the fact that i have all sps and its time for a much more high tech skimmer

Asking what skimmer is best is going to throw you skimmer models everywhere. Its like asking what car you should buy, people are going to give you there opinion, and what they like.

I wouldnt say there is a Best skimmer to choose from. Just search for reviews.

I wouldnt say there is a Best skimmer to choose from. Just search for reviews. Each skimmer will work differenly on every tank since they are differently stocked etc.
