Help W/ Ammonia Spike!!!
I tested my water today and it was at 1ppm!!!Help! I would do a water change, but I don't have any salt. I ahve an Alveopora and is is really retracted.Will it be ok for a day or should I move it to me RSM tank? It is still cycling w/ .25 ammonia. Please help ASAP!!!

Go get some salt..... 2 tanks with no backup salt or water is asking for it.
Time for waterchanges, but the real question is what died to make the ammonia 1ppm.

No idea, the ricordia got blown away though. But would that produce that much ammonia?Very small ric, about the size of a nickel.

Water change needed asap. Ammonia levels as low as 0.2 ppm can be toxic. Once the downward spiral of death happens it goes quickly.

how long have you had your tank up? if you are cycling, do not do water changes.........it will just slow the cycle. Anytime i've had small spikes i just used amquel+ which is made to use with live rock aquariums and doesn't mess with the good bacteria in your aquarium. I've always had good results with that and it will allow for your tank to cycle normally.

I did a 5 gallon water change w/ istant ocean, and the water is really cloudy now. Is that ok? Never used this brand before.
