Rbta
This is a pic of my new RBTA. Since this photo, it has moved behind some rocks and is in the process of splitting. Was surprised to see this happen so soon. |

Reproduction in some animals can be triggered by stress. Survival of the species as opposed to survival of the specimen.

I've definitely heard a number of people say that their RBTA split right after they got it. Transporting and adapting to new light and a new tank is stressful so it doesn't mean you're doing wrong.
I got my RBTA 4 years ago from a guy in San Francisco. It was really stressed at first and kept trying to crawl over the overflow to split. A little did split off and got puree'd in the skimmer pump but that's another story. Anyway ... after it settled down it has never split again since. The guy I got it from told me that although most healthy RBTA split periodically, there are some that just don't. On the Anemones and Clownfish forum there is a sticky for a really good FAQ thread on anemones. http://www.carlosreef.com/AnemoneFAQ.pdf |

The new one won't be ready by the frag swap, I was told it takes about 10 days for the mouth to completely heal. I am in the process of getting another one in a couple of weeks.
