considering ro/di
i found one of these
http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOON used, for $95 shipped, needs new ro membrane, and has a tds meter. so , er how about some ya / nays? btw, im cheap, not so much thrifty, just cheap,.... my wife can confirm... |

First thing I got when I decided to do salt water was an RO/DI filter. Started using it on my fresh and wow what a difference. I'll never go back to tap water.
That site's broke at the moment so can't check out the unit. |

I purchases a ro only unit from Lowes as that is all they carry seems to work fine all parameters seem fine plus they sell the filters out there. What is the advantage of deionized anyways?

A new membrane runs around $45.00. It sounds like it might need new filters and resin so figure an additional $30-40.00.
fwiw I got a used 5 stage Spectapure w/inline TDS meter that had a "weak" membrane last year for $50.00. 'Course I knew the seller so I got a good deal.
