What do you Have/Want (OCTO-berfest)

Running with the suggestion....

What will you be bringing to the OCTO-beerfest frag swap?
What are you looking to trade for/buy?

Here is Our tank thread which has many pictures of corals that we'll have frags of. We aren't going to do any "pre-orders" but should have a piece of most everything/anything in there.

what i would like? id like to beat everyone to all the nice frags. i plan to bring beer and get everyone distracted.

honestly, besides the corals, if someone has a bristle worms taking over the tank. put some in a worm trap and bring it in. my coral banded shrimp pair don't let any worms live in there for too long so they don't have a chance to breed.

I can tell you to only bring what you can afford to spend, leave everything else at home. Frag swaps are like a crack flea market to me, I will keep buying and buying until we are out of cash then find the few stores there that take plastic, then proceed with more buying. You can come home with some nice stuff for good prices, just remember that the $10-20 frags are small, but they all grow.

good thing people coming to the frag swap don't accept credit card. because all of us fragaholics would be left with only our fishtanks and credit card bills!

i usualy bring only what i plan to spend and leave credit and debit cards home because i end up running to the nearest cash station and withdrawing money.

its a good idea to bring your girlfriend, in my case shes the one that remembers about paying bills, i get exited and forget sometimes.

As far as "how much to bring?"

I'm sure there will be people selling frags for as little as $5.00 each. There will probably be pieces there (large frags, small colonies, super rare pieces) that will go for $50.00+. It all depends on what you're looking to buy. Usually the primo stuff sells right away, but I've been to swaps that it doesn't sell at all. $100 cash will get you a nice selection and variety of corals.

I'll have an assortment of zoas and plays.
Armor of Gods
Dessert Fox
Crazy Dasiy
Aeon Flux
Dragon eyes
Demon eyes
And I should be able to briing a frag of the DLC Orange Death Cicile. It is $55 a poylp so only if some one contacts me that they want it. I have 1 frag already sold and should have 1 more avalible then. They are 2 poylp frags.
Then I have about 20-30 no name zoas that go fro $5-$15 a frag

I'll have 3 colors of GSP, cheap and common, along with Alien Pearl(neon green with a white ball in the center)

Neon Green and Blue candy canes

rare yuma

plenty of shrooms (rare and common)

I'll probably leave my sps at home since others will have that well covered, but I have a few I might bring.

I'm no fan of GSP (gets out of control too easily) but Rob's, I think it must have been the Alien Pearl, had me considering it very seriously, that is one good looking coral. I must have stared at it for 10 minutes before forcing myself to walk away.

Also, I concur with the bring only as much as you're looking to spend thing. If you bring $50, you'll spend $50, if you bring $300 make sure you have enough space in your cooler. Also, don't forget a small cooler to keep your corals in.

I usually end up with about 5 or 6 $5 to $15 small frags, if I know something specific I'm after then I'll shell out more for a nice piece but I'm one that likes to watch tiny frags grow out over time. 5 or 6 small pieces won't fill the tank but won't overwhelm you. Know what you're buying, if you haven't done the research ahead of time, make sure to ask questions such as whether or not they'll need to be fed or if your light and flow will be good enough. Never feel bad about asking "stupid" questions. Also, everyone there has the same interest as you, so introduce yourself around and talk to as many people as you can and you'll have a blast and learn a ton.
