How loud is the pump? Is it quite enough for a living room, or does it need to be in a seperate room?

Thanks,
Paul

It is quite like all dolphin pumps. I purchased it from another pet store that was going out of business to setup a large system that I am no longer going to setup. The pump is aprox 2.5 years old (that is when the other store opened up).

For people looking for a picture I have posted one in my gallery under dolphin pump. The pump is very clean and runs very well.

What did you use this pump for? How did you not blow all the water out of your tank? (9000+ gph)? Would you run this pump in your living room? (you can't tell me that a 3hp motor is just as quite as a small dolphin pump) I would like to buy it, I am just trying to figure out if it would be too much for a 120g closed loop setup. (lots of outlets).

SO i finally found a place that has some specs, if that is the HHS 9400 it is trated 9000 gph , 11.6A/230v inlet 2"/2" outlet , up to 105 feet head pressure.

That would turn over the volume of you 120 ever 45 seconds aprox. that is on monster of a pump.http://www.aquadirectinfo.com/pumps/dolphin3.htm

I just figured if you have enough outlets, like 12 of them, it would be around 750 gph on each outlet. Would that still be too much?

Thanks,
Paul

thats one hell of a pump and they actually make one size larger the 11,500. You have to have an super big tank.

I would not put this on a 120 gallon tank to much pump for that small of a tank.

The pump was in a retail store running a 12 foot tall venturi skimmer with a 1 1/5 mazzie venturi on it I believe.

Just a bump to let people know this pump is still available and that I would entertain trades for the pump also. I could use a smaller pump or 2, skimmer, lights, just about anything reef related.
