Just picked up an orange linkia star 2 days ago and wanted to share a pic and while i was at it i took a full tank shot. What do you think? After christmas there will be much more coral. I can't wait.

Beautiful tank! What do you attribute all of the coralline growth to?

To tell u the truth i can't figure out y there is so much coraline. i keep my calcium at about 450 and really don't do anything special. The only thing i can think of is the VHO's, maybe it has to do with the sprectrum of light the tank is getting, but idk. The tank will be 1 year old in two weeks.
The starfish hasn't moved much. Actually hes been on that same rock since i put him in the tank, but he moves from the front side of it to the backside, so he is moving around a little. |

you will probably notice more/thicker coralline algae in areas hit by hi flow... where ever your pumps are aimed and hitting = coralline growth!
have heard the linkia (spelling?) starfish are hard to keep... unless one has over 100# of LR (heard that atleast)... mine has been in my tank for almost a year and it seems to move around all the time so have been lucky thus far. good luck w/ yours and w/ your new corals! happy holidays regards |
