Store in So Cal

Hey guys,

I'm making my way down to Southern California sometime this upcoming week and was hoping to stop by some decent LFS in the area. Unfortunately I dont know of any and would hate to be wasting my time at stores that are not reputable or are a ripoff...

I'm looking for good, well priced corals or good cheaply priced corals.. you know what I'm talking about!

Any recommendation would be appreciated! I'll be in the East Hollywood area... But dont mind driving a bit for a good deal... I'm in SPS and Zoas... and maybe a good fish/clam.

Thanks!

Medusa's on Pico and Bundy, mad clams when I went last, Maxima's with blue and gold mantle's. Reef Hotspot in the same area, google them for their addie, if you fancy a drive and some nice cherry picked stuff, maybe a lil' pricey I dont know your budget but they are great guys to deal with then check out Vivid Aquariums in Canoga Park. Again google them but I use all three and they are all good people.

Here's a link that will give you a better idea of where most of the stores in the LA area are located. PM me if you want some guidance in the San Fernando Valley area (NE of LA).

Good luck and have fun.

The two I highly recommend are Reef Hot Spot and Aquarium City. Vivid has good selection, but a bit on the pricy side IMO.

Reef Hot Spot is right next to the 405 and Pontius Av. and Aquarium City is on Sherman Way and Owensmouth in the San Fernando Valley.

Thanks for all of your help especially kwoo008

I stopped by Aquarium City, Vivid, Ocean Pets, and Rainbow Pets.

I was wiping my drool as I walked into Vivid. Probably one of the cleanest stores I've been to and also some extremely high end corals! I got a Tyree Birdsnest and some zoas from there. Looking great so far! Pleasant people.

OP was also great! Down to earth owner and lots of LPS and softies at very very reasonable prices! I got myself some Yumas from them from cheap! $20 for like 6 of them! Not the best colors, but I'm taking a gamble on them coloring up under T5's

I didnt get anything from Aquarium City or Rainbow Pets. Aquarium City had quite a bit of selection but nothing that I didn't already have in my tank or could have in my tank.

Rainbow pets was okay. Unfortunately they had a huge sale earlier this week and were most down to the bones in terms of corals.

Thats my lil review and follow-up in this thread! Thanks again guys!

Now you need to fit in an OC run the next time you're in town!

Well you're definitely closer to OC than you were this time!
