media pump?

is anyone running a single external pump for the purpose of:
from sump to phosphate reactor to a carbon reactor to a protien skimmer and then back to the fuge side of the sump?
i want to know if this will work, what kind of pump do i need for something like this, high head?
and lastly i have two overflows, could i possibly use one as a gravity system to feed all of these devices?
pics would be great, but if none give me your thoughts on this type of system and would it be feasible?

ps i would just make all the reactors myself so i am open to suggestions as to configuring...whatever!
