Best Addition Yet

Here are some pics of my new Blue Dot Jaw. Just picked him up today. These pics were taken about and hour after i put him in the tank. He's already taken plankton and mysis shrimp and he's being pretty bold already. Can't wait till he settles in and builds his burrow.

Gorgeous fish, congratulations! Is it in your 120 or the nano?

Its in the 120g. I have a Dracula Goby and pistol shrimp in the nano and he's kind of cranky so i'm not putting anything else in it.

Was he purchased from the store in Clifton? Looks nice. Always liked them. Just make sure the tank is covered, notorious jumpers.

Wow, those spots really stand out. Nice find. Does he ever explore the tank? I have a Hi-Fin that just stays in its cave/borrow and goes no where.

I saw one at the Tropaquarium in Ocean, NJ today. This one looks just as nice.

Yes, he's from the store in Clifton. I was on waiting a list for him so they called me when they came in. They got two and the first was picked up the day after they came in and i waited a few days to pick him up to make sure he was healthy. I have a pretty fine mesh pond netting over the top of my tank so there shouldnt be a problem with him taking a leap.

Get some crushed coral or small rock rubble/shells. Your jawfish is going to need that to reinforce its burrow. Just place in it front of the hole. Very cool watching them select the rubble for den building.

The sand in the pic looks very fine, but there is a good amount of small shell pieces and rubble in the tank for him to use and there are also empty snail and hermit shells all over if he wants some bigger stuff to decorate with.
