my diy protien skimmer

I made a skimmer with a gen-x 4100 recirculating on a 3 foot 6 inch reaction chamber. the problem is i used 6 inch pipe for the reaction chamber and a 2 inch neck. so i get some extremely wet skimmate. i need some suggestions on a new reaction chamber size and neck size to go along with my pump and chamber height...3"6" thanks.
or could i just use a larger neck size? i doubt it though.

how are you controlling the water height in the skimmer? if you are using a stand pipe, then low that a bit and it should help.

i have tried it pretty low and the pump just rips the bubbles thru to the top. i had it about 2 inches down...into the six inch chamber and it was still climblimg right up... ithink the neck diameter is the biggest problem? anyone know for sure what sizes i should be using?

It should help a bit but your neck size is to small... I would install a gate valve on your stand pipe and maybe enlarge the neck to 4"...

i could try a larger neck without too much troulbe...right below my neck i used a 6" no hub band(rubber coupling) so i could easily acsess the top and maybe change something. just not sure if that'll do it or do i need to change the reaction chamber as well.

I would try the neck first and then maybe adjust the reaction chamber but you should be able to get better results out of the neck adjustment...
