58 gal. filtration
I know ive posted this before but it's time to start on it. I have a 58 gal. oceanic aquarium and im pretty much postive that the bottom is tempered glass which means no drilling? So, i guess my option is to buy an overflow, silicone it to the back wall, then run a line from the bottom of the oveflow in to the sump. The sump is going to be a basic 20 gal. tank that i have lying around. I will probably have to add glass dividers to this 20 gal. or does anybody know if theres a good place to get sumps like this that would be around 20 gal. with the dividers already in them? Also, if anybody has any other ideas or completely different ideas for this filtration i am open to any suggestions. So far thats what i need help on. Thanks for your time.

I have seen people drill the bulk head on the back pane instead of thje bottom one. Go see if your back pane is tempered if not you can drill it there and build a overflow box around it.

Well now that i research it i think the bottom may not be tempered according to this http://www.oceanicsystems.com/products/ultimate.php
I just dont know if i have the "ultimate series" or not. Im assuming that if the pains are a green tint ( not starphire) then its not the ultimate series and its tempered. Im not sure about the back pain of glass. Are there any oceanic owners out there that know? Anyway besides all that does anybody know of a good sump to buy? Also I plan on getting an octopus NW 150. Would i just place this in the third chamber of the sump and then just run it back up to the aquarium as the return after skimming? Thanks. |
