We've come a long way

Was browsing through some old reef pictures and found this one of the 2nd or 3rd swap. Glad to see some of those people still actively involved in the hobby and the club. It's really quite amazing how big this group has gotten

It sure has Brandon. And we all owe you huge a debt of gratitude for starting the RRC Forum here on RC, and for being such a great ambassador for the group and the hobby!

All that took was an email, the real gratitude goes to all the RRC members that have had us in their homes and all the significant others who allowed it to happen

marshalls name is vtsureshot. and thats his ex mandy. they had a bad break up right after they bought a house together. he sold his tank and moved to new york to work with citi group. he's a great guy and a long time friend. he got me started in this wonderful, pocket emptying hobbie. thanks marshall!

I've been looking for my pictures from that one. I think the head count was 35-40.

I bought Marshal's live rock. It got me started. He said he'd had it for ~5 years. It came with plenty of frags attached also.

My first meet was at Daves from Pet Club I think. I don't think we were officially a club back then. Boy his tank in the basement with the movable light rail blew my mind. I know his kegerator blew a lot of minds too.

Unfortunately Dave's new family and his full time pond business haven't left him much time for the hobby/club. It's a shame too because he had a beautiful and extremely DIY reef. I still run into him from time to time.

That was my first one also. October 10, 2004. I remember meeting you, Dave, Charlie, Brandon, Nate, Andrew (Aquarius), and a few others! Dave was very gracious and hooked up this new guy with 3 great corals that I still have today. The green fungia is still my absolute favorite coral of all. I've had 3 hippo tangs that liked to pick on it when they grew to 5-6". The coral stays-the hippos got transferred into the witness protection program.

I lost most of the fish and about 1/3 of the coral. I think the one at your house has been the only meet the cops showed up to

Last I talked to him, it was still running but it was pretty much just in a holding pattern.
