First pic of my new Dracula Goby

I literally put him in the tank 5 minutes ago. Heres the first pic i snapped he's still perched on the rock that he swam to when i put him in.

Not sure. Maybe because the stripes on its side are a deep red color like blood. Its latin name is Stonogobiops dracula, so its incorperated in the latin name also.

I've heard bullseye pistols are kind of iffy when it comes to pairing with gobies.

I've never heard of a candy cane goby and can't find anything about them. Did u mean that it looks like a candy cane or is there such a fish as a candy cane goby?

Does anyone else have one of these?? What type of pitsol do u have them paired with? My friend has a Randals goby with a Bullseye Pistol and i really like it, but if they r picky about who they accept as a roomie i'll get a different one.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I have a yellow watchman I am trying to pair up. You guys seem to know a lot about pistol shrimp. Is there any particular pistol shrimp for a watchman? And that dracula goby is really cool! I wish I had seen that around...

Thank you. I've heard about the randalli but not bellulus. I'll check it out.

Cool vid. Mine still hides most of the time except for feeding time when he will venture out a little bit to grab some food, but everything i've read says that they act just like the one in the video. Hovering about 2-3 inches from their burrow while the pistol maintains it.
