Nice! One of the few oak stands that turned out nice. I like how I got the build all at once, as opposed to over the course of 3 years!

I like that very much. Looks a lot like my setup... only neater
What are the closed loop pumps you are using and how is the noise tranmission with them mounted to the back wall like that?

Thanks everyone!
Driftin, we are using 3 Blueline 850 GPH external pumps. 2 for the CL, and 1 for the return which is not pictured. The nice thing about them is they only draw 40 wts. They are kind of tough to find now, not sure why. There was a problem with one of the pumps being loud, but it was an internal problem, even though they were new. The place I bought them sent me another impeller, but it's still louder than the other 2 which are nearly silent. Thinking now it could be the bearing. Other specs: Lighting: 2 X 250 10 K Ushios on Blueline E-ballasts 4 X 110 URI actinic VHO's on an Icecap 660 Fuge lighting~ 2 X 65 wt, Current 6500 K PC"s Protein skimmer:Euro-reef CS 6/1 skimmer with Sedra 3500 Fuge:main return is teed off to 29 gal refugium which returns by gravity to 29 gal sump. Closed loop:CL works off black ABS draw tube in back of tank, to 2 X 850 GPH Blueline pumps, and returns through 2 SCWD's then 4 locline returns in tank.

I really like it. So let me ask you about the stand. At first I thought the top would need to be secured to the wall to maintain its position/strength, but now I'm thinking the tank is supporting the top section? Is that correct? It looks really nice.
I love the internal electrical setup, as well as the closed loop pumps mounted in the back up high. Thanks for the pictures of the pipefish. They're cute, but can be tough to photograph as they don't exactly stand still & pose.

Thanks so much. The top is very strong, what you cannot see in the pics is all the inside structural construction. It has less weight resting on the top of the tank than an ordinary canopy would. Another cool feature is both the top & bottom center posts are removable. There is still no load resting on either one, so if you wanted to change the sump for example, you could. One thing I wanted him to accomplish with this tank, that we did'nt have with the old one...was easy to remove plumbing. That way as the tank ages, and the plumbing builds as they do with stuff inside the tubing...it can be removed and cleaned or replaced. It also has that red faucet below the closed loop pumps. That can be used to drain the water from the closed loop system, if you needed to work on or clean the pumps. It would also drain the tank if you hooked up a hose to it, if you wanted to do it that way. The bottom of the stand is lined with that water resistant stuff{I have no clue what it's called..LOL} the stuff they use in showers. Some regrets...we ran out of time to put more coats of clearcoat on it. But we are happy with it. It was fun watching him build it, and seeing him pleased at the end, although he nitpicked it to death. I think he did a great job.

Very nice. I really like the clean look of the stand and the canopy. I think it's much better than the ones that tries to be fancy with all the trimmings and mouldings.
Is the fuge plumbed in to the main tank? Are the pipe fish in the fuge or the display? That fuge needs to be higher up so people can better look at it. Very nicely done.

The refugium is plumbed to the display. It used to be up higher at the apt. and drain by gravity to the DT, now it drains to the sump. This design causes less pods to enter the DT, but it seems to be cleaner than it used to be. We just moved it as it was, minus the water. The pipefish are actually opposite of what you see in the pics. The dragonface is in the fuge, I take her in & out of there as I see the pods increase/decrease. The african pipe is in the DT now, as she will eat mysis as well as pods. Thanks for all the kind words.

I am remodeling my home (full time) I can't believe how long it takes to work on your own stuff. Good wife you got there to take time out to (play with your tank) as mine would say.
