August 26th 2PM DMS Meeting w/ Spectrapure for a talk on RO/DI.

Mark you Calendars. Desert Marine Society is sponsoring a talk with Charles Mitsis of Spectrapure. on August 26th at 2:00 PM at Pranksters Too. If your head is not spinning with facts and figures, tips and ideas concerning reverse osmosis and deionization when you leave this one then you were asleep! I will tell you Charles is a very interesting guy and has loads of good information we can all use to better the hobby and even your cup of coffee for that matter, some of their largest customers are coffee shops. He never ceases to amaze me and I have been in water treatment for over 30 years!
Spectrapure has donated some very nice raffle prizes to help DMS including one of their new revolutionary Max Cap cartridges and a new HM Digital TDS meter. We will also have a selection of Kent Reef additives donated by the local Kent Representative thanks to Tropical Treasures as well as other prizes.

A list of possible topics includes:
1) RO membranes- how are they rated, are they all the same? What does a 2% rejection rate improvement really buy you?

2) New DI cartridge Developments, how does the reefer benefit?

3) 1-1 recovery RO DI systems for Aquatic use- Myth or Fact?

4) The Myth of ZERO TDS.

These are all real firecrackers right now and would be quite
educational.

Do any of you have anything you would like to hear about? I know Spectrapures line of autotopoff devices and what would best fit my situation is on my list of questions along with membrane flushing and its benefits, real or not?

Hope to see you all there!

A.J.

I will be bringing a selection of frags to the Desert Marine Society, Spectrapure talk on the 26th. Some will be donated to the club for raffle prizes, others will be up for trade or sale.
I will have red digitata, green staghorn, green millepora, bright red monti, rust red monti, cream w/ purple rim monti, olive green w/purple rim monti, and possibly some bright green and light blue candy corals.
I am looking for blues and purples, the reds and greens are taking over my tank. I should be able to post some pics later once the ligts are on and everything has opened up.
