Candy Cane Help

Tell me everything I need to know about candy cane coral.. i just picked up a frag from the LFS, its got three branches (if thats what you call them) and is neon green. How much light does it like, how much flow does it like, is there any special care(or tips on how to care) for it. I'm new at corals so any help would be appriciated.

Next time better to research first...then buy.

Need more info. You have a 60 gal. What are the dimensions and what type of lighting are you running.

Mine don't like a lot of light but I run DE halides. They do much better for me in the shaded areas. Medium flow, not direct.

From corals by Borneman:
GENUS Caulastrea
Captive Care:
Indirect bright light and moderate current will allow for the best expansion and health of Caulastrea. They seem quite sensitive to direct MH lighting and to strong water flow. I have noted that a surging current seems to bring a very positive response, and that polyp division increases greatly under such a flow regimen.

IME candy cane corals enjoy being placed in areas of moderate lighting, as well as moderate flow. Also at night they will open up and really transform when they let out their sweeper/feeding tentacles. You can take this time to feed them small meaty foods like mysis.
If you turn off the flow in the tank and place the food on their mouths during the day they will except food.
