Where can I get a healthy Regal?
Hi, Does anyone know where on line one can purchase a healthy Red Sea Regal angelfish? Where have you gotten ones that were healthy and eating over a longer period of time? Maybe if I could get one from the same supplier of ones where they were healthy then they may have been caught properly and handled correctly which I have read is critical for these fragile fish. I live in Houston and don't know any fish stores here that get them in. Thanks, Lesley

I've found obtaining a healthy regal sight unseen to be difficult. If you decide to purchase one online, I highly suggest getting a larger Regal. Online vendors and LFS often sell tiny tangs, (e.g. 3/4 of an inch) and in my experience they rarely live. I've always had better luck with the larger ones.
I've found saltwaterfish.com to provide healthy fish. They also give you the option of purchasing a larger specimen. Rick |

I purchased a very healthy regal from LiveAquaria. It also had a 14 day alive guarantee.
The regal arrived overly stressed, one of the bags had popped, and water level was low. I was a little worried, but now 3 months later he eats like a pig--anything that goes into the tank he is first to the plate! Hope this helps. |
