What are these black plates?

I'm so tired of cleaning the eggcrates and having small stuff fall between them. I was looking for other options. Does anyone know what this is?

IMO, you're better off with white so you get at least some upwelling of light.

I have a few pieces of white acrylic that I drilled for racks but to be honest drilling all those holes gets old fast.

Some larger colonies I put white acrylic under them and it helps to keep the undersides healthy and growing instead of ending up with tissue loss there.

Depends on what your doing Steve.

Black is IMO far better for presentation of frags either in LFS or in pictures.

White IMO is better for farming and production.

You 100% right about the acryliv and drilling holes. Been there, done that, won't do that again

Use black plastic netting over the eggcrate. It is semi rigid and the holes are 1/8".
