Here are a few shots of my 150 from early October at the one year point. All corals are from frags.

do you guys populate the glass bottom with other corals to kinda hide the fact that there's no sand?

I do not. Coraline is really starting to take off on the bottom since the Oct pictures. I do not feel the tank looks bad or unnatural without sand.

i try to keep the more aggressive corals on the bottom, so my prized pieces are not in their range, such as my hydnopora, tulip anemones, rock anemones and fast growing GSP. The other corals i keep on the bottom are either stressed, new, or low light such as my plates, lobo, and tubastreas.

The green slimer grew 2"- 4" a month. It was almost 30" when I started fragging it, the left side got more of the fragging. It would have grown to about 4' tall in 5 years, if I hadn't started hacking on it.. Started out as a 1" frag as most of my corals. I thinned the coral out about 4 months ago, took about 40# out. So the reef would grow in more even, and the demands on Cal and Alk were unbelievable...
