So my leather finger coral has been "shedding" for two weeks now...is this normal

You have pictures of what it's doing? How old is your tank? Lighting?

My tank is 3.5 months old along with the lights which are T5 with two actinics...pic of it #17 in my gallery

Stronger water flow will decrease the "shut down" time before shedding. This periodic shedding of the outer layer of cells is a normal occurrence and is thought to help keep algae and/or other corals from growing over them.
