January Meeting

Hey guys... Sorry I've slacked a bit... Been wicked busy with finishing up last semester, work, and then going out of town for the holidays...

Where do you guys want to have the January meeting???

The MTRC Frag Swap is January 19th, which is the 3rd Saturday, so we need a when too...

Ahhh so Saturday the 19th is the swap.

I'm fine with having the meeting whenever and wherever. hah hah.

I could actually host it this time but I've got no tank.

I'm ok with the swap being the meeting. I'm on call the following weekend and provably won't be able to make it to the meeting then anyway.

Traditionally we've always held the swap AS the meeting and not had a meeting...just because the Nashville swap is so huge and all of our core members end up going to it.

IMO we should not meet this month, put it off til next month...but all go out to either Lemongrass or Sakura so's we still see each other.

haha food vs meeting. Considering my current size I believe food is the correct choice. I'm in.

its great cause its actually a sushi buffet. its the biggest i've seen besides a place in asheville. they have a small regular buffet, but the sushi buffet is larger than the regular food...AND they have the mongolian bbq. making me hungry!

Not trying to be negative at all but...that used to be a place called BQ's whose sushi sucked. They also had a mongolian BBQ, so it sounds like it's the same dang thing. I hope it's a lot better now that it's technically something different. It was closed for quite a while...so maybe!

In defense of BQ's, they would make me some tamago if I asked them to...so that was very nice!

i had never been there when it was BQs, so i couldn't tell ya. i don't know if its different owners or what, but i thought they had a pretty good selection and it was nice to be able to sample all little bit of everything.

Oh man... I took a date there to BQ's, because she "LOVED" sushi... I had one peice and the rice was all hard and crunchy... Needless to say I didn't date her long... I have heard that this place is better than BQ's...

I was thinking of the other place that is always changing names Miyabi's or whatever it is now...

I've actually never been to that one. I always end up at Sakura for sushi. I mean it's got it's known issues (well...the only one I have is that it's SLOW) but we've learned to work around it.

I am completely positive about trying out a new place though. So I say we go to that Makino's at some point, but this month...it's Thai time (we can still get some sushi there, don't forget).

I try to go to Lemon Grass as often as possible... Every time I go, its practically empty... I don't understand it, because its wicked good... This time Thai is fine with me...

Oh, and that other restaurant should never have changed from Logans... lol

Dana~ You really need to come to one or our meetings and drink a few with us... Then you'll fit right in... Reef knowledge or not... This month is a bit too hectic... We usually meet for dinner when we get together at a restaurant...

Adam~ I can't help it she was ignorant...

Seriously...I contribute virtually nothing in the way of reef knowledge to anyone...they still let me come to meetings. When we all go out to eat, it's usually dinner, though I'm not opposed to a luncheon. What you'll find is that I'm not opposed to much when it comes to food and me getting to eat it.
