Smile drilling a rubbermaid refuge?

Do you know what rubbermaid to use to make a refugium?I want to drill a bulk head to it so it can drain back into my sump.I figure i will raise the refuge about 1ft or 1.5 ft so it will natural drain down.Do rubbermaids tend tpo leak in the bulk head after long use.I'm thinking the plastic might strech a bit.let me know, post pics if you have one.

Rubbermaid's have been used with bulkheads successfully by LOTS of people for water holding. I'm using one for R/O top off, always full of water, with a bulkhead, and no leaks for months.

Also... if you drill the hole only as big as it needs to be for the bulkhead to fit, stretching (if any) won't effect performance.

I've been using a 40g rubermaid as my fuge connected to my 40g rubbermaid sump with a bulkhead for yrs. I keep them at the same h20 level, there's no need to raise the fuge up. I run my return pump to my tank and to feed my fuge with around 250-300gph using a T. HTH

Rubbermaid makes stock tanks (troughs) from 50 gallons and up and they all have a bulkhead drain. You can purchase these from a farm type store such as the Tractor Supply Company. I purchased mine from Dickey Bub Farm & Home store here in Missouri. They are better than a trashcan of sorts and they look like a pond insert and are made of very heavy duty plastic/foam.
